Taking a Stand

Jenna~

"When we make decisions to obey God - even when it costs us something - and to live out our faith in our day-to-day life, it will be hard, but it will be good. And it will be good because God loves to bless us when we are faithful to stand for Him." Pg. 154
Sometimes it seems incredibly hard to stand up and walk away from ______ , because that means that you are going against what others think - you have to be set-apart! But friends, being set-apart is a good thing, and we should be seeking to be set-apart for Jesus Christ. When we ask Jesus to come into our hearts, and we BELIEVE in Him, then the "old man" (our fleshly desires) are dead, and we are no longer living by him. We are FREE from sin, free from gossip, free from all that bondage, all because Jesus Christ laid down His life for us!
Don't be afraid to stand up and say to yourself "that is wrong, and I'm not going to do it..." don't be afraid to go against the ways of this world and follow Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Immanuel, our King!
Bethany~

Taking a stand in your circles is not the easiest thing to do. Peer pressure is against you, possibly your social status. Yet God isn't concerned with your social status, He's concerned about you and me and whether or not we will make a stand for Him. There are times when you may have to stand up against something that you know is wrong. I'll admit, it's gotta be about the hardest thing for teens to do. We are so worried about what others think about us (which we totally just have to get over)! We need to stand up and show others the way to Christ.

I love it how the Harris brothers put it:

" Our ultimate goal is not just that those around us would stop joining the world's way but that they would learn to love and embrace God's way. We ca accomplish this by being passionate ambassadors, eager to proclaim the goodness of God and stand for Him before the watching world."

And as rebolutionaries, our stand for what is good and right today will have an even bigger impact than we may realize.

Do you stand up for good, and walk away from evil???
In Christ,
Jenna and Bethany:)

I agree all the way!! I have a problem with what others will think of me. You're right, Bethany, I just need to get over that one! One thing my mom said was that I need to find my worth in Jesus Christ. When I do that nothing that other pple say (or might possibly think) will matter because I will know that my Saviour loves me and that is all that matters. So I think that is part of what I and other teens struggle with. They (myself included in that 'they') do not understand that the only thing that matters is that we be in the will of God!

Great discussion!
